Well today was an experience, continuing my on going dream\adventure of attempting to qualify for the World Series of Poker 2009 via PokerStars Steps I ended up playing Denis Phillips at step 3 (for those that don't know Denis was a finalist in last years World Series) - Twice I tried to bust him out, first with a pair of 10's and Denis went all in after the flop of Q,9,2 (rainbow) and he had QK - I shouldn't have called but I just had to try and bust Denis out. The second time I had 9-10 suited with a flop of top pair 9's. Denis went all in and having him covered I called only to find he had A9 eventually I finished 3rd so just missed out on qualifying for step 4 but still back in step 3 and I'll attempt step 3 again tomorrow. Bring on Phil Hellmuth!!
Would also add that Denis already has his seat at this years WSOP and he was playing for the practice - nice! And he is a friendly fellow. Did I learn anything....Yes... play my own game despite who the opponent is. I look forward to next time Denis!
